Bid2Travel Goes Green

Bid2Travel.com – India’s first Hotel room auction site becomes World’s first Travel site to stop issuing Hotel confirmation voucher on paper.

Hotel Voucher’s print out on paper sheet --------“Just Go Away” is the answer from Bid2Travel.com

Bid2Travel.com
, India’s first online hotel room bidding / auction site, announced the launch of its “Green Travel” mission. Bid2Travel.com is offsetting carbon emissions generated by its business operations by investing in a number of carbon emission reduction initiatives, which include renewable energy, reforestation and energy efficiency projects.

Further to this effort, Bid2Travel.com will reduce its carbon consumption levels related to its business activities by implementing the “NO VOUCHER” project.

Bid2Travel.com will also educate and encourage its visitors to become carbon neutral by using “NO VOUCHER” policy. Under this project, for every confirmed hotel booking, Bid2travel.com consumer is required to mention only his Booking refrence number or Name to check-in at any of the Indian hotels booked through its web site. There will be no requirement of the print out of the Hotel confirmation voucher to check-in at the Hotel.

This change will result in a huge reduction in the consumption of paper by travelers, who take print out of the Hotel confirmation which is normally required for check in at the Hotel. This is the general practice adopted worldwide by most of the travel web sites, Hotels and travel agents. If we calculate, then this can be attributed as a major cause resulting in the deforestation of millions of trees by now.“India has always given the world the vision to innovate and do things differently and we are proud to mention that Bid2Travel.com, an Indian travel company is also the first in the world to stop issuing hotel confirmation voucher on papers” said Mr. Pritpal saini (CEO of Bid2Travel.com). “Bid2Travel.com remains committed to being an environmental leader in the travel community, and will continue to take proactive steps in the fight against global climate change”

Mr. Saini also added that “We are thankful to all our partner hotels that have reacted in a very positive, professional and responsible manner to start this project. We are sure that this move will save thousands of trees on an annual basis. I am sure that other travel sites will also take the cue from this and will help in saving millions of trees worldwide.
